One Take - No PostProduction - Come Closer, Emmy Curl’s New MusicVideo

Filmmaker Nuno Barbosa pulls out the most visually striking Music Video. He uses the projection mapping technique for Emmy Curl’s latest single, Come Closer.

The whole video is one shot. No cuts. The director shoots multiple choreographed performances of the Portuguese singer-writer. Barbosa shoots front and side images of Curl, then again, under a special UV light, while she is covered with luminous paint. Finally, he projects those shots on her, and she performs her choreography one last time with slight changes and delays. The final result is a must-see. Words cannot express what was meticulously done.
"We want to show the imperfections and fragility of reality. The final result has an analogue feel that would have been impossible to achieve in a post-production environment." says Barbosa.

Unusual Christmas Ideas

If you are living in Lebanon, and are bored of the same gifts and ideas each and every year, skip the trend, the mainstream, and the traditional places you look at for inspiration, and scroll down for a few wacky ideas.

1- Recycle and make your own Christmas decorations

2 years ago, we researched and made a few decorations and adorned some of Beirut streets with them. Making them was fun, putting them up was fun, but discovering the next day that they were taken out overnight was more than depressing. I would definitely advise you to make some decorations with your little siblings, little kids, nephews and/or cousins. Just use them inside the house not on the streets.

Here are other examples on this Pinterest board.

2- Design a warmhearted video for your family or loved ones

Do not worry if you are not good with filming and editing. FADE IN has the workshop for you. The class is designed into 2 public sessions, each is 2 hours long, on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11, December from 6.30 to 9.30 PM. In addition to that, you get a third private session to finish your gift. In this workshop, you will formulate a story (not a slideshow), using your own pictures and videos, while learning professional editing to put them together for a fun surprise.

3- Buy a Handmade gift from creative Lebanese Craftsmen

My friend has been running this place for some time, and it is definitely worth a visit. It is a shop in Badaro in the building of the Ministry of Industry. The Syndicate of Craftsmen in Lebanon operates it; it comprises the works of different skilled people across Lebanon.

Here are a few items that grabbed my attention:

4- 25 Handmade gifts under $5

If you are on a budget, do not worry, you can still make the gift. And guess what, a gift from the heart is worth a thousand gifts (even more). Go to this link and find a list of 25 gifts with their tutorials.

 5- Put a smile on a stranger’s face

BlogBaladi shared this #heartbreaking picture on facebook. This kid, as well as many others (kids and adults), deserve to be happy in this world (during Christmas and any other time). When you are buying gifts for all your loved ones, remember this picture, and add a few more gifts for strangers who cannot afford one, or do not have loved ones to look after them.

This list of ideas is not exhaustive.

If you have any other ideas, if you run a not-so-mainstream shop (mainstream shop owners can try too) that sells christmas gifts, please add them in a comment below or contact us on this mail and we would love to add them to the list above.
